How to set up your
e-mail account:
You'll need to know:
Incoming and Outgoing Mail Servers, POP3: these are in the format
of mail."yourdomainame".com, where "yourdomainname" is, naturally, always to be replaced with your domain name.
Username: This is your FULL email address, NOT just the bit before
the '@'
Password:
As supplied. Case sensitive! 123DeF is NOT the same as 123def.
IMPORTANT - YOU MAY CHANGE THE PASSWORD SUPPLIED VIA THE LINK PROVIDED BELOW. IF YOU WISH TO DO SO, IT IS EASIEST DO IT BEFORE YOU SET UP OUTLOOK
EXPRESS. TAKE NOTE OF THE NEW PASSWORD, AS WE CAN NOT RETRIEVE LOST PASSWORDS WITHOUT RE-SETTING MAILBOX (YOU MAY LOSE ANY MAIL IN YOUR MAILBOX)
How to set up:
In Outlook Express, click on Tools, Accounts, Mail, Add, Mail, and follow the instructions. In "I already have an e-mail address I'd like to use" insert your new e-mail address. For Incoming / Outgoing Mail Servers see above.
Enter your username/password, make sure that if you have more than one e-mail address that these are applicable for the specified address. Follow the instructions and click
Finish.
Optional but highly
recommended:
Then go to Tools, Accounts, Mail, click on the new e-mail account you have set up, and click on "Set as Default" instead of your ISP-given e-mail address. Click on the old account, click on Properties, (General), insert your new e-mail address, click on the Servers tab, and replace ONLY the outgoing mail server to the new one, (see above). Thus when you send mail, your clients/customers/friends would have your new e-mail address, and if you decide to change ISP's your e-mail address remains constant. This does not mean that you cannot receive e-mail at the old address; unless specifically deleted, Outlook Express will automatically check BOTH/ALL accounts for mail, then after a long enough transition period, you can safely delete the old account, but it is not necessary.
Webmail and mail settings:
